Luo Ran dropped his shoulders when he heard Bai Fan’s name.

The interrogation team was smart to ask the ex-CEO of the Medicine Deity Corporation, Bai Fan. As Bai Fan did not have any concern, he ratted out about Rangure’s identity without any hesitation.

If Bai Fan had already ratted out about Rangure, Luo Ran had no meaning to continue hiding Rangure’s identity.

Luo Ran became silent for ten-odd seconds before he smiled, “Can I have a stick of cigarette?”

The interrogation staff nodded his head and left the room. Shortly after, he returned with a box of cigarettes and a lighter. As Luo Ran lit it up and took a deep breath, he confessed, “That’s right. Rangure was the one who murdered Wang Guofeng. Wang Guofeng, Bai Fan, and I were just her puppets. She’s the mastermind of the Medicine Deity Corporation. By using the Medicine Deity Corporation’s name, the committed lots of crimes. When those crimes came to light, she needed a scapegoat, which Wang Guofeng took the fall.”

“Do you have any evidence?” The interrogation staff knitted his brows.

“None!” Luo Ran smiled bitterly. “She’s cautious in doing things. I’m just a scapegoat for her now. Now that Wang Guofeng’s death came to light, I became her scapegoat.”

“It’s hard for us to believe you without any evidence.” The investigation team had already investigated Rangure. She had an identity as a diplomat from the Germany Embassy. So even if someone accuses her of something illegal, they couldn’t arrest her without any evidence since this matter involved foreign affairs.

“I can only provide this much clues.” Luo Ran smiled bitterly.

Nodding his head, the interrogation staff replied, “Thank you for your cooperation. You can rest now.”

With Luo Ran’s statement, the investigation team finally had a target. They just had to find the evidence to arrest Rangure now.

Luo Ran was brought into a room. As he was overwhelmed by exhaustion, he soon fell asleep.

The investigation team was discussing their plans in another room. Now that they had focused down their target onto Rangure, they needed evidence.

All of a sudden, the leader of the investigation team’s phone rang. When he picked it up, it was a woman talking through the phone.

“Hello, Chief Chen. I’m Jiang Qinghan of Hanzhou City’s Criminal Police Department. We have some information with regards to Wang Guofeng’s case that we would like to hand it over to you.” Jiang Qinghan gave a call to Xia Yu just after she received them from Xia Yu.

Chen Dong wasn’t surprised as he knew that Jiang Qinghan had been keeping up with this case.

Yuan Lan had followed Su Tao’s request to find that employee of Wonderful Time Spa mentioned by Zhang Ailian. Back then, Wang Guofeng had treated Old Sun’s cervical spondylosis for free, so Old Sun viewed Wang Guofeng as his savior.

Wang Guofeng had a dedicated locker in the spa, which he would use it every time he visited. The key was in Old Sun’s safekeeping. Wang Guofeng instructed old Sun that aside from his lover, Zhang Ailian, the locker was to be kept a secret.

Yuan Lan came with Zhang Ailian’s letter along with a video. It took great efforts for Yuan Lan to persuade Old Sun before he revealed Wang Guofeng’s secret.

When Yuan Lan unlocked the locker, she noticed a safe behind a secret compartment. She used tons of ways to open it and found the bank card that Wang Guofeng had prepared for Zhang Ailian. Aside from that, there was also a file with evidence on Rangure’s illegal doings.

Her task was to pass them to Xia Yu, who would hand them over to Jiang Qinghan.

“What information? Will it be helpful for the case?” Chen Dong asked.

“They’re all evidence on Rangure’s spy activities in the country,” Rangure replied solemnly.

The Hanzhou City’s Police Department had been investigating Wang Guofeng’s death. The information they had was detailed. When the investigation team accepted this case, they obtained many information from Hanzhou City’s Police Department. The information that was provided to them had saved them the time to investigate from scratch.

Chen Dong had some understanding of Jiang Qinghan, an overbearing Bella within the Criminal Police circle. She was famed for her capability and was known as a model in the public security system.

“We have just finished interrogating Luo Ran. He had also identified Rangure as the culprit. We only lack the evidence to arrest her, so send it over to us immediately. And thanks for that!” Chen Dong finally felt relieved.

This investigation was an order from a senior and retired bureaucrat. So they couldn’t help feeling pressured by the task. However, the investigation wasn’t as complicated as imagined. Everything had gone smoothly for them as though someone was manipulating the investigation from behind the scenes.

A brief moment later, an officer reported, “We’ve just received an email!”

Waving his hand, Chen Dong instructed, “Retrieve them! Everyone put down whatever you’re doing now and start analyzing this information!”

It only took them half an hour to go through the email. When Chen Dong finished looking through the files, he let out a sigh in relief. Wang Guofeng had already predicted that Rangure would abandon him, so he collected Rangure’s illegal activities.

Someone as cunning as Rangure hadn’t expected that the obedient Wang Guofeng would plant spies around her.

The files that Jiang Qinghan sent over included a few videos that proved Rangure’s involvement in the underground research facility.

Now that they had all the evidence required, Chen Dong issued out an order, “Issue out the warrant for Rangure’s arrest!”

“Yes, sir!” The officers echoed out.

It only took a single day for the investigation team to uncover the truth. Most importantly, someone had already prepared all the evidence that they needed.

Since Jiang Qinghan had led the entire investigation, Chen Dong decided to mention her in the report. It was equivalent to giving her the merit for this investigation.

Rangure’s fundamental task was to gather intelligence. When she found out that there was a warrant out for her arrest, she finally panicked.

She couldn’t appear in public now that China had blacklisted her. Furthermore, China’s anti-spy organizations were also mobilized.

Then again, Rangure was trying her best to change everything.

She wore an ordinary dress with brown boots, disguising herself as a typical foreign woman. Even if an acquaintance were standing beside her, no one would be able to recognize her.

She had to find Qin Jingyu. Qin Jingyu was her partner, and only he could help her out of her current desperate straits.

But when Rangure was approaching Qin Jingyu’s office building, she suddenly felt an ill premonition. When she turned her head around subconsciously, she saw a man and woman coming at her.

A cold glint flickered across her eyes as she pulled out a silver pistol from her pocket and pressed the trigger. Looking at all her shots missed, she instantly knew that they were professionals.

Taking a deep breath, Rangure rolled to the corner of the wall. She was waiting for an opportunity to retaliated while she fixated her eyes at the exit. She needed to escape as soon as possible.

She immediately figured out that this was a trap. There weren’t any pedestrians around, and they set up a trap waiting for her knowing that she would come to Qin Jingyu for help.

In the end, she could only stake it all. Taking a deep breath, Rangure fired more shots. But before she could even respond, she took a shot to her thigh that made her groan out in pain.

In the next second, Rangure took another shot to her arm as she dropped her shoulders along with the pistol.

“Freeze! You’re under arrest!” Tang Shi pointed her gun at Rangure’s temples.

Rangure showed a bitter smile as she knew that it was futile for her to resist.

But all of a sudden, a loud bang reverberated out!

Tang Shi was pushed to the ground by Hei Jin. When they raised their heads, Rangure had a bullet planted in her forehead as she collapsed.

Rangure was silenced?

Hei Jin hurried over to the sniper’s location based on his experience, but his opponent was also experienced. The sniper was already gone by the time he’d arrived.

In the end, Hei Jin could only return empty-handed and smiled bitterly, “We were tricked. The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.”

With that, Wang Guofeng’s murder had been concluded. He did not commit suicide, but the spy, Rangure, killed him.

But it left rooms for imagination that a sniper had killed Rangure in the arresting process.

It meant that there was another mastermind behind Wang Guofeng’s death. But to dispel all the commotion caused by this incident, the case was closed for the time being.

Standing before the window in his office, Qin Jingyu’s eyes were blazing with rage.

The sniper was sent by him to assassinate Rangure. He couldn’t afford to let Rangure fall into the Fire Beacon’s hands. After all, she knew too much of his secrets.

But Rangure’s death had struck him with a blow. Not only did it meant that many orders would fall through, but he had also lost a stable channel for the sale of firearms.

Although Germany would send someone to replace Rangure, Qin Jingyu was a cautious person. It wasn’t easy for him to put his trust in someone. Furthermore, he would also be blacklisted by Germany for Rangure’s death.

Qin Jingyu had caught the scent of a scheme in this incident. The first thought that went through his mind was that he had fallen into someone’s scheme.

Who’s the mastermind?

Li Anbo and Wang Xuan?

This scheme didn’t seem to be planned by those two. The two of them might be sly, but they knew nothing about the Medicine Deity Corporation.

Everything started with Wang Guofeng’s death, and Wang Guofeng was Su Tao’s rival.

Qin Jingyu soon pointed the arrow to Su Tao. He immediately figured out that Su Tao was launching his retaliation towards him.

“Are you taking revenge against me?” Qin Jingyu sneered. After all, he had tried to touch Yan Jing and clip off Su Tao’s wings.

But the incident had progressed beyond his imagination. Not only was Yan Jing safe, but Su Tao even used Wang Guofeng to get rid of Rangure. Qin Jingyu wanted to clip off Su Tao’s wings, only to end up having his wings clipped instead.

“This is just the beginning of our fight!” Qin Jingyu’s eyes were gushing with flames. He had to admit that he had underestimated Su Tao all along, which resulted in his loss.

But Qin Jingyu wouldn’t admit defeat so easily!
